The APS VALO wooden box is a display and presentation piece designed to work within GN-compatible buffet systems. Made from oak wood with a black finish, it sits at GN 1/1 footprint, meaning it accepts standard GN inserts directly or can be used as an open display surface for cold or ambient food presentation. The construction is solid and stable, giving it a grounded feel on buffet counters and service tables.
In a working buffet or catering environment, this kind of modular wooden riser earns its place through flexibility. It can be used to create tiered or varied-height layouts when combined with other VALO pieces, which helps break up flat buffet lines and guides guests through a service naturally. The black finish sits neutrally against most table linens and serviceware, making it a practical choice for hotels, event caterers, and restaurant buffet operations where presentation consistency matters.
A few practical points worth noting before ordering:
- Stackable design keeps storage compact between service periods
- Surface wipes clean with a damp cloth — not suitable for dishwasher use
- Works as a GN insert carrier or open display surface
- Oak construction gives a stable, weighted base on uneven surfaces
- Black finish suits both formal and informal buffet settings
This box is suited to ambient and cold food display. It is not designed for use with hot food directly in contact with the surface, and the wood construction means it should be kept away from prolonged moisture exposure to maintain its condition.
If you are building out a full buffet layout and want to discuss sizing, riser heights, or how VALO pieces combine with your existing serviceware, the team is happy to help you work through the options.
