The Bristol is a bar-height chair combining a rubber wood frame in a dark walnut finish with a metal cross-back panel and an upholstered seat pad in bison tan. The result is a chair that sits somewhere between traditional timber construction and the pared-back industrial aesthetic that has become a reliable choice for cafés, bars, and casual dining spaces. The seat pad lifts comfort noticeably for guests who are staying for more than a quick drink, which matters in venues where dwell time is part of the offer.
Rubber wood is a reasonably durable hardwood that holds up well in front-of-house environments when maintained properly. The metal cross-back adds structural rigidity and is consistent with the current trend for mixed-material furniture without tipping into novelty. At 10kg per chair, it has a solid, planted feel that guests tend to associate with quality.
A few practical points worth considering before ordering:
- Upholstered seat pads will need periodic inspection in high-turnover venues — light-coloured fabrics show wear sooner in busy services
- Rubber wood benefits from occasional treatment in dry or centrally heated environments to prevent splitting
- The cross-back design means stacking is not straightforward — factor in storage space when ordering in volume
- Contract use is supported, but this chair is better suited to moderate-traffic venues than to very high-volume, all-day operations
This chair works well for independent restaurants, café-bars, boutique hotels, and similar settings where the look of the seating is as important as its practicality. For venues with very high footfall or outdoor terracing, it is worth discussing alternative specifications with us first.
If you are fitting out a whole space and want to talk through quantities, finishes, or whether this chair suits your specific environment, we are happy to help before you commit to an order.
