These oblong plates from Churchill are part of a range designed for professional tableware use in restaurants, hotels, and hospitality venues. The elongated format suits plated starters, sharing portions, and composed desserts where a standard round plate would limit presentation options. The organic walled edge and concentric embossment give the surface a tactile, hand-thrown character that works well against both contemporary and more traditional table settings.
Churchill manufactures these plates using a super-vitrified body, which means they are notably harder and more chip-resistant than standard vitreous china. In a busy service environment where plates are handled repeatedly, stacked heavily, and run through a commercial dishwasher multiple times a day, that additional durability makes a practical difference to replacement frequency. The thermal shock resistance is worth noting too — moving plates between cold storage, a microwave, and a hot pass is the kind of cycle that causes failures in lesser-grade ware over time.
- Super-vitrified construction reduces chipping during heavy daily use
- Thermal shock resistant — handles rapid temperature changes in service
- Microwave and dishwasher safe for flexible kitchen workflows
- Textured embossed surface adds visual interest without complicating cleaning
- Sold in packs of six, practical for topping up existing sets
These plates suit operations running a small to mid-sized cover count where tableware quality is part of the dining experience. They are available in a pack of six, which makes them straightforward to add to an existing Churchill white collection or to trial the format before committing to larger quantities.
If you are specifying tableware across a new opening or a full refit, it is worth a conversation with us — getting the right mix of shapes and pack quantities from the outset tends to save time and cost further down the line.
