The Luigi Bormioli Roma 1960 is a 480ml beverage glass built for commercial service. It features a cross-hatch embossed pattern drawn from mid-century Italian design, making it a practical choice for operations that want something visually distinctive without resorting to overly ornate stemware. The glass works equally well for soft drinks, water, cocktails, and iced beverages.
Made in Italy from SON.hyx lead-free crystal, the Roma 1960 combines genuine clarity and brilliance with a durability profile that suits busy environments. It is notably lightweight for a crystal-quality glass, which helps reduce fatigue for front-of-house staff during long service periods. The material is also resistant to clouding and etching — a common problem with cheaper glassware that sees heavy dishwasher use.
Key practical points for operators:
- Rated to withstand 4,000 commercial dishwasher cycles without loss of clarity
- Lead-free SON.hyx crystal offers strong resistance to chipping at the rim
- Lightweight construction suits high-turnover table service
- Uniform embossed finish provides reliable grip when handling
- Sold in a 24-unit pack, suited to stocking a full station in one order
This glass is well suited to casual dining restaurants, café-bars, hotel food and beverage operations, and any venue that cycles glassware at volume through a commercial glasswasher. The 480ml capacity is a versatile middle size — generous enough for long soft drinks or iced cocktails, without being cumbersome on smaller table settings. Operators running very high covers or banqueting-scale service may want to consider purchasing multiple packs to maintain adequate par stock through peak periods.
If you are unsure whether the Roma 1960 is the right fit for your service style or volume, our team is happy to talk it through with you.
