The Bauscher Elements Sand walled plate is a stoneware plate with a handcrafted aesthetic and a soft, natural semi-matte glaze. The shallow wall helps contain sauces and dressings without the formality of a deep bowl, making it a versatile choice for starters, mains, and composed desserts. The neutral sand tone is particularly effective as a backdrop for colourful, plant-based, and seasonal dishes where presentation is part of the offer.
In a busy service environment, tableware needs to perform consistently under pressure. Elements Sand is oven, dishwasher, and microwave safe, which means it fits into standard back-of-house workflows without requiring special handling. The stoneware construction is reasonably robust for everyday commercial use, though as with all ceramic tableware, breakage rates should be factored into stock planning — particularly in high-turnover operations.
Key practical points worth noting:
- Semi-matte glaze provides a tactile, artisan quality that suits contemporary plating styles
- Walled profile helps retain sauces and dressings during plating and service
- Oven, dishwasher, and microwave safe for flexible kitchen use
- Stoneware construction delivers a natural, handcrafted appearance at table
- Supplied in packs of six, useful for trialling a cover count or topping up existing stock
The 220mm diameter is well suited to starter portions, smaller main plates, or sharing dishes where a compact footprint on the table is preferable. For larger main course covers or operations serving generous portions, a larger plate size may be more appropriate, and we carry further options within the Elements Sand range.
If you’re building a cover count across a new menu or matching existing Bauscher tableware, it’s worth having a conversation about quantities and which pieces work well together — feel free to get in touch with the team.
