The Churchill Delta Grey walled plate is part of Churchill’s Super Vitrified range — a collection designed specifically for the demands of professional foodservice. The 157mm plate is a versatile size commonly used for starters, desserts, and smaller plated dishes. The walled profile helps contain sauces and dressings without restricting presentation, making it a practical choice where plating consistency matters across a busy pass.
Delta Grey’s semi-matte finish and subtle surface texture are drawn from natural forms, giving the plate a calm, considered look that keeps the food as the focal point. The in-glaze decoration is integral to the body rather than applied on top, which means the colour holds up under repeated commercial washing cycles without fading or wearing unevenly over time.
From an operational standpoint, the Super Vitrified construction offers a number of practical advantages for kitchen teams:
- Thermal shock resistance helps the plate handle rapid transitions between cold storage and hot service without crazing
- Good heat retention supports consistent presentation from pass to table
- Fully glazed base reduces chipping during stacking and storage
- Microwave and dishwasher safe for straightforward back-of-house handling
- Stain-resistant surface eases turnaround between covers
These plates are supplied in packs of six, which suits venues looking to supplement an existing Delta Grey service or build a set gradually. Churchill Super Vitrified is a well-established choice in UK commercial kitchens, and replacement stock is generally available, which matters for long-term continuity of service.
The 157mm size suits smaller plated courses well, but operators running this as a main plate for all covers may want to consider larger diameter options from the same range. If you’re building out a full table setting or need guidance on pack quantities for your cover count, the team is happy to advise before you order.
