The Steelite Performance Flora coupe plates are a 152mm side or starter plate finished in a pale pink colourway. Made from high alumina vitrified china, these are a step up from standard porcelain in terms of chip resistance and durability — a practical consideration for any front-of-house operation where crockery takes a constant daily throughput of service, stacking, and dishwasher cycles.
In a working kitchen environment, the high alumina construction gives these plates better thermal shock resistance than many standard alternatives. That means they handle the transition from a hot pass or heated cabinet to a cold surface without the hairline cracking that gradually degrades lesser tableware. They also retain heat reasonably well for their size, which matters when plating warm starters or amuse-bouche elements where presentation time is short.
From an operational standpoint, the Flora coupe format is a clean, versatile shape that works well across a range of plating styles — it suits modern presentation without being overly fussy. Key practical points worth noting:
- High alumina vitrified body offers good chip and crack resistance under daily use
- Thermal shock resistant construction reduces breakage from temperature cycling
- Dishwasher safe, supporting a fast turnaround between covers
- Coupe profile suits a range of starter and side plating styles
- Supplied in packs of 12, suited to building or topping up a house set
These plates are best suited to restaurants, hotel dining rooms, and private members venues where a coloured accent piece adds visual interest to the table. The 152mm size positions them as a starter, side, or small dessert plate rather than a main course plate. For operations needing a larger format within the same range, higher-capacity options are available.
If you are building a full house set or mixing Flora with other Steelite ranges, it is worth speaking to us before ordering to make sure the colourways and sizes work together in practice.
